Our men’s first team play their final game of the 2024/25 National Basketball League Division One regular season tomorrow, with Derby Trailblazers the visitors to Nechells in a 7:30pm tip.
Three Rockets teams have already qualified for their respective postseason playoffs, with two games taking place tomorrow as playoff season gets underway.
Men’s First Team
It’s all to play for in a tightly contested NBL Division One going into the final weekend of action, with Rockets currently holding the final playoff spot.
There are five teams competing for the final two playoff spots heading into the weekend, however, with only a Rockets win good enough to guarantee progression to the playoffs.
Rockets could still make the postseason should Derby win, but other results would need to fall our way across the weekend.

Women’s First Team
Our Rockets women face the long journey down south to take on Team Solent Kestrels in their WNBL Division Two Playoff Quarterfinal.
Coach Clive Allen’s side navigated a stop-start season to finish third in Pool 1 with an 11-4 record to set up tomorrow’s quarterfinal tie against a Solent side who went 11-7 in Pool 2.
It’s win or go home basketball from here on out, meaning there is no margin for error as the team look to return to Manchester for the playoff final at the end of the month!

Junior Performance Programme
Both our Under 14 Boys and Under 14 Girls both progressed to the playoffs after enjoying fantastic regular season campaigns.
The girls don’t start their playoff campaign until next weekend, but our Under 14 Boys are in action tomorrow as they face London Stars in the first round.
Coach Matt Gaskell’s team finished fifth in the regular season with an 11-9 record in the Northern Premier to earn their postseason place.
Rockets head into the game on the back of a two-game winning run at the end of the regular season which should give the team confidence heading into the playoffs.
London will pose a stern test, however, with the team from the capital unbeaten so far this season – putting up a 22-0 regular season record in the Eastern Premier.
Good luck, Rockets!

We will be back to preview next weekend’s action, including our Under 14 Girls’ home playoff first round tie against Kingston Lions, next week!
