The Rockets Academy at Birmingham Metropolitan College make the journey north to face Manchester Magic (Loreto College) in their latest EABL outing this afternoon, tip-off 4:15pm.
Magic have endured a stuttering start to the season having one just one of their first five games.
That win came on game day two, as they beat Sheffield College 104-71.
The Rockets Academy at BMet are also on one win so far having played two fewer games than our hosts this afternoon.
Rockets’ maiden win came in their last game, also against Sheffield, by way of a 78-73 win at Nechells Wellbeing Centre two weeks ago.
Miles Moore top scored for Rockets with 21, whilst Nektarios Papadopoulos and Suwayd Francis both scored in the double figures with 16 & 11 respectively.
Speaking after the game, assistant coach Ricardo D’Alva spoke of how pleased he was for the team to get the win after the hard work put in by the players.
He said, “The hard work is paying off right now.
“The players have been working very hard, training everyday – some of them twice per day, and I think things are now starting to come together.
“This is a very young group; we are playing against players who are older than them but the most important thing is their attitude.
“Their attitude and commitment are what allowed us to achieve the win and we will take this as motivation ahead of the next game.”
