City of Birmingham Rockets are delighted to announce the addition of Akol Ring to our Men’s First Team roster for the remainder of the season.
Akol joins us after a spell at Northeast Community College in the USA, having previously impressed during his time at Aston Manor in the ABL.
The 6’7 Forward is no stranger to Head Coach Paul Douglas, who is looking forward to working with him once again at Rockets.
He said, “Having known and worked with Akol since he was 15, I am very aware of what he can add to our team.
“Akol is a high energy player who can finish well on the break, score inside & outside plus help out with some much needed defensive rebounding.”
Speaking ahead of the move, Akol said:
“Im looking forward to playing for the Rockets, Especially playing under my former Coach Dougie and returning from an injury which has held me back for over a year.
“I’m ready to represent and help take the team to new heights.”
Akol has been registered and is set to be in the squad to face Northamptonshire Titans later today.
