City of Birmingham Rockets Basketball Club are back in NBL Division Two action this evening at Nechells Wellbeing Centre, tip-off 6pm.
The Opposition
Nottingham Trent Hoods Basketball have struggled so far this season, losing both of their opening two games.
Their 195 points against is the league’s worst defensive record so far, with the Hoods having a -64 differential over their opening games.
This includes a 91-63 home defeat at the hands of Manchester Magic last Saturday.
Their coach, Dan Watts, played under current Rockets Coach Paul Douglas early in his playing career as part of South Nottingham College’s academy.
Rockets Recent Form
The Rockets come into this evening’s game having claimed our first league victory of the season last weekend away at University of Chester.
A 54-72 victory reflected our dominance on the day, with a strong second quarter overturning an early deficit on route to a comfortable victory.
Whilst our cup run ended at home the following day, Coach Douglas’ side are motivated to put things right as our focus shifts back onto league action for the remainder of the campaign.
Around The League
There is a busy weekend of basketball around the league this weekend, with Bristol Academy Flyers hosting Charnwood Riders and Doncaster Eagles at home to Team Birmingham Elite in the 15:00 tip-offs.
Bristol Hurricanes will face University of Chester at 16:00 before our game this evening.
Encon Derbyshire Arrows will then host Myerscough Basketball Academy on Sunday, rounding off the division’s weekend action.
How To Find Us
Our home fixtures are played at the recently redeveloped Nechells Wellbeing Centre (Rupert St, Nechells, Birmingham B7 4AR).
