CJ Hayden Joins Rockets for 2024/25!

Birmingham Rockets are delighted to confirm the addition of CJ Hayden to our men’s roster ahead of the 2024/25 National Basketball League (NBL) Division One season.

CJ, a Birmingham native and former Great Britain international at U18s & U20s, adds further size and physicality to Coach Smith’s roster and is a proven threat on both ends of the court at this level.

The story so far…

CJ has spent the last four years as part of the Loughborough Riders, who were a staple in NBL Division One as well as serial BUCS champions during his time in the East Midlands.

Loughborough were serial BUCS champions during CJ’s time with the university.

Before joining up with the Riders, CJ attended Gillette College in the US for the 2019/20 season.

As well as his Great Britain call-ups, CJ represented England Under-17s and placed an impressive 17th at the Deng Top 50 Camp.

Close to home…

CJ is looking forward to getting started, and will have a familiar face helping him through the adaptation period as he integrates himself with the group.

“I’m looking forward to being back in Birmingham representing my home town with my brothers, who I’ve grown up with and looked up to,” he said.

“It’s going to be a wholesome feeling to be on court with my cousin Martyn, who has already shown his experience helping me on and off the court to be a better player and person.

“I’m excited to make a statement this year, coming for everything I’m owed and showing the league what myself and my teammates can achieve!”

Everyone at Rockets would like to wish CJ a warm welcome to the club and we look forward to seeing him in action this season!
