Our unbeaten first teams return to Nechells Wellbeing Centre tomorrow evening for an enticing doubleheader of basketball action!
Last weekend saw both of our first teams record league wins on Saturday, with our men’s team snatching victory from the jaws of defeat with a dramatic away win at Bristol Hurricanes.
Sunday saw our Women’s First Team travel up to Manchester where they would secure passage through to the quarterfinals of the National Cup in another pulsating game in which Rockets progressed courtesy of a 53-50 win.
Women’s First Team vs Cardiff City
Our women’s team get the action underway tomorrow as they prepare to face off against Welsh opposition, tip-off 5pm.
Our visitors have played just once in the league this season, with a depleted lineup falling to a heavy defeat against Bromsgrove Bears.
Rockets, meanwhile, are 7-0 in all competitions after a strong start to the season.
Whilst last Sunday’s win in Manchester continued our cup run, Saturday’s win at Derby Trailblazers saw Coach Emery’s side move to 4-0 in the league.
It is sure to be an exciting game to start the evening and all tickets cover entry to both games, so make sure you come along early and show your support!
Men’s First Team vs Worcester Wolves
In a replay of our pre-season Midlands Cup triumph, we welcome back Worcester for what is set to be an enthralling encounter at Nechells.
We lifted the inaugural Midlands Cup at Worcester’s arena back in September after back-to-back wins across the two legs.
The fixture is riddled with narrative, with last season’s MVP Nathan Ramsdale-Owen and Jordan Dawes just a couple of Rockets players with close associations to the Wolves having represented them during their BBL days.
Now fighting their way up the National League divisions, Worcester have lost just once this campaign and know that falling two games behind the unbeaten Rockets could prove fatal to their promotion aspirations.
Rockets, meanwhile, are 7-0 in the league and sit atop the standings as the division’s only remaining unbeaten outfit across both conferences.
